If you think £150 would just about buy you a camping trip on Britain’s south coast, you might be surprised to hear it could actually get you a lot more.

Every day we come across holidays to sunny destinations which cost less than that per person – including airfare and in some cases even food.

So if you’re after a cheap holiday, shelve the staycation and instead let’s see how far we can make £150 stretch…

Turgutreis by BodrumMedia

All Inclusive Autumn Escape in Turkey

Booking in advance nets you all sorts of bargains. If you want to avoid the crowds and the kids, travelling outside of the school holidays is the way to go. For just £111pp you can enjoy a seven night break in Turkey during October when temperatures still reach up to 25°C. The price not only includes your flights and seven nights’ accommodation in a three-star hotel, but also all your food, drinks and snacks throughout your stay. With everything included you’ll have plenty of cash left over to explore the attractions of Turgutreis, which has a sailing school, spa and thriving Saturday bazaar.

Late Summer Hols in Majorca

If your friends have all come back from their various holidays showing off their tans, then you could be forgiven for feeling a tad jealous and dreaming of a getaway of your own. Luckily there’s still time to pick up a holiday bargain, such as this seven night half-board break in sunny Majorca for just £126pp. Better still, convince some friends to come along with you before heading back to uni or work. You’ll be staying in the resort of C’an Picafort which is known for its numerous bars and restaurants – though with the price including your evening meal – it’s the bars you’ll be more interested in!

Berlin by Rosshuggett

Bargain Berlin City Break

City breaks can often be expensive – unless you know exactly where to look. We’ve found two nights in a Berlin hotel in the middle of August with flights included for just £119pp. You won’t find a bargain better than that in the height of the school holidays. Whether you want to take the children along and explore the many museums, which open late during August, or are planning a romantic break for two there’s so much to do in Berlin. See the animals at Berlin Zoo, cross Checkpoint Charlie, gaze at Brandenberg Gate and even sample Currywurst at the Currywurst Museum.

Greek Getaway

In a country known for its delicious food and drink, you’ll probably want to opt for self-catered accommodation so you can try everything. Luckily, self-catered packages in Greece come in fairly cheap and in September you can find flights and accommodation in Corfu for under £120pp. In Kavos, the Elli Studios and Apartments are close to the main strip which means easy access to the numerous bars and nightclubs which line the street. During the day it’s all about the crazy watersports with speedboats, jet skis, banana boats and ringos available down at the beach.

Algarve by Sue Elias

Relaxing Break in the Algarve

The Algarve is one of the most relaxing destinations in Europe, especially if you’re a fan of golf. Although even if you aren’t, you’ll find plenty to see and do outside of the 35 golf courses that make up the Algarve region. Praia de Rocha boasts a wonderful sandy beach and the Portimao River which is great for leisurely boat trips. There are many nearby attractions, such as the Slide and Splash waterpark in Lagoa and Zoomarine in Albufeira, where you can swim with dolphins. A week here at the Mirachora III apartments costs less than £106pp, so you can spend the money you saved exploring the area.

With all these holidays and more coming in at less than £150 there’s no excuse for not treating yourself to a getaway this year. Take a look at Holiday Discount Centre website for some inspiration.
