If your perfect holiday includes a mixture of nature, entertainment and lots of sunshine, then Tenerife should be at the top of your holiday bucket list.
Here are 10 reasons why this Canary Island scores 10 out of 10 with us…
1. Sea Life
While some places offer whale and dolphin watching trips, where you’ll be lucky to even catch a glimpse of a fin, you’re almost certain to witness these amazing creatures in Tenerife. Take a boat trip out to the waters between Tenerife and the island of La Gomera, get your camera at the ready and prepare to be amazed.
2. The Weather
With an average of 15˚C in winter and 25˚C in summer, the consistent temperature in the Canary Islands is a real plus for visitors. Just don’t forget the sunscreen!
3. Animals
It’s a bit of a tourist trap but Loro Parque is well worth a visit if you fancy getting away from your hotel for the day. There are some seriously impressive animals here from tigers to tortoises, as well as an aquarium with an incredible shark tunnel that allows you to walk right underneath them.
4. Water Sports
If you’re one of those people who just can’t seem to sit still, then don’t despair. Tenerife has plenty of water sports to keep you occupied. Choose from parasailing, jet skiing, banana boating, wakeboarding and plenty more to really get the adrenaline pumping.
5. Beaches
You’re on holiday, so the beaches better be good, yes? Well you’re in for a treat in Tenerife. Whether you’re staying in Los Cristianos, Playa de Las Américas or Costa Adeje, there are plenty of beaches to choose from that make the ideal place for topping up that tan in beautiful surroundings.
6. Volcanoes
Offering the ultimate photo opportunity (Facebook cover photo maybe?), the volcano in Mount Teide National Park is the highest peak in the whole of Spain. So why wouldn’t you want to take a cable car to the top?
7. Nightlife
Crazy nightclubs? Check. Charming cafés? Check. Beach bars? Check. Cabaret? Check. Karaoke? Check. The only trouble will be deciding what you’d like to do first!
8. Water Parks
For some seriously impressive slides and flumes, Siam Park has everything you could possibly want in a water park. Take the 28-metre plunge on the Tower of Power, relax on the Lazy River or experience the world’s largest artificial wave pool.
9. Pyramids
Yes, you heard us correctly. Tenerife also has its very own pyramids, so take that Egypt! The Pyramids of Güímar are a set of step pyramids that date back to the 19th Century AD – definitely worth checking out.
10. Golf
If you’re into your golf, there are few places better to play than Tenerife. Whether you’d like to stay at a specific golf resort or just fancy a day out on the fairways, the climate here is perfect for a round or two.
