Our Top Five August Bank Holiday Breaks

The August bank holiday weekend always seems to mark the end of the summer. After this glorious three-day break, it’s usually just over a week until the kids return back to school, shorts are swapped for school jumpers and autumn makes its first appearance. Rather depressingly it’s also the last bank holiday that we get in the UK until Christmas, but that just gives us all the more reason to make the most out of it. This is the perfect time to fit in a last-ditch trip abroad. The resorts are still open but not too busy, the sun is still shining, and you might even come across some great closing parties. What are you waiting for?

Kavos

Can you believe that you can spend your bank holiday and the weekdays following it in sunny Kavos for just £109? Leaving from London Gatwick on August 29^th, the accommodation on offer is the Kaparis Beach Complex which is located close to some of the main beaches and bars. The nightlife in Kavos is crazy and a visit to the Ice Bar and a booze cruise should definitely be experienced while you’re here.

Ibiza

The party isn’t just about the thumping music – though we’re assured there’s plenty of that! Flying banana rides, snorkeling and even a visit to neighbouring Formentara are all on the cards. Bugibba

This resort is especially popular with families owing to its many playgrounds and entertainment options. However, there is a large casino should you choose to leave the little ones behind this time. Costa Brava

The Tabaiba Center in the heart of Costa Teguise is extremely well-placed with a bustling beach just a few minutes’ walk away and a popular water park a short drive away. A shuttle service even runs into the main resort four times a day. However with two outdoor swimming pools and live music twice a week, there’s also plenty going on inside the apartments.
