If you didn’t already know, from the 1st January this year a new Greece tourism tax was introduced by the Greek Government. The newly introduced overnight stay tax will be payable locally by the individual tourist on checking in to accommodation in Greece. Prices will vary according to the official rating of the accommodation, meaning the higher the star rating the more you pay.
Greece Tourism Tax Breakdown
Apartments:
0.50€ per room per night
Hotels:
1-2 star: 0.50€ per room per night
3 star: 1.50€ per room per night
4 star: 3.00€ per room per night
5 star: 4.00€ per room per night
Payment can be made by cash or card.
