Onsite Hotels
Onsite hotels at Disneyland Paris are hotels that are within the grounds of the Disney-owned lands, that are Disney-themed and that are run by Disney. All ‘onsite’ hotels are owned by Disney and are just a very short journey away from the theme parks themselves.
The big advantage of staying onsite is that you are always just a stone-throw away from the magic of the parks. It means that the immersive Disney experience doesn’t stop at the parks, with the Disney-themed festivities continuing throughout your mornings and evenings. The disadvantage with staying onsite is that it is significantly more expensive than staying offsite.
Offsite Hotels
Offsite hotels are those that are not based within the grounds of Disney and are their own independent establishments. It is easier to think of them as your standard hotels that you would find anywhere else in the world, i.e. not Disney-themed. These offsite hotels can range from being in touching distance to the parks to being a lengthy commute away.
The big advantage of staying off site is the money that you save. The parks themselves are not cheap so saving a bit of money with your hotel can often go a long way when you are already forking a lot out for tickets and in-park meals. Even 4 and 5-star hotels can work out a bit cheaper than the onsite Disney ones. However, the obvious disadvantage is that they are not Disney-themed and are usually a decent car or bus journey away from the parks. After a long day, it can be difficult waiting for a bus back to the hotel rather than just strolling back to an onsite one.
Our favourite onsite hotels
One of our favourite themed onsite hotels is the incredible Disney Newport Bay Club. The design of the hotel is beautiful with its whitewashed, nautical theme and beautiful views out onto the lake. The hotel features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, play areas and plenty of Disney character visits. It is just a 15-minute walk from the park or a free 8-minute shuttle.
Another one of our favourites is the recently-built Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. This superhero-themed stay is perfect for anyone who loves Marvel and it will feel like you are on the streets of New York! Luckily, there is no crime to fight but there are lots of opportunities to meet some of your favourite Marvel characters and to dine like a superhero! The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the park or an 8-minute free shuttle.
Our favourite offsite hotels
There are also a number of great ‘off site’ hotels to choose from. One of the most luxurious is the Marriott’s Village d’ile de France. This swanky hotel overlooks Golf Disneyland and is located just 6km from the Disneyland Park. They offer private studios and villas and some of the facilities include bed & breakfast, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and an on-site restaurant. It is the perfect place to chill out after a full day of fun!
Another one of our favourite offsite hotels is the Radisson Blu Hotel Paris. This is another hotel that overlooks the grounds of Golf Disneyland and is just 6.3km from Disneyland Paris itself. The modern rooms here provide golf course views as well as their own coffee machines, two on-site restaurants, an indoor pool and perhaps most importantly, complimentary shuttle services to and from the Disney Parks.
